The Port Of Call Pub

Restaurant Details

Address3 York Street , Clifton , Bristol
CommentsGreat old fashioned pub, always guaranteed a warm welcome. Huge selection of real ales (think it was CAMRA pub of the year not long ago), menu is traditional but food is far superior to the usual chain-pubs - their Sunday lunches are legendary. It's no longer my local as I have moved, but I still like popping in whenever I'm in the area. Highly recommended.

The Port Of Call Pub

Restaurant Details

Address3 York Street , Clifton , Bristol
CommentsThis is my favourite pub in all of Bristol... In fact the UK! Completely authentic old pub, with the friendliest staff i've ever met, they always greet you with a smile and a conversation. They have an excellent range of ales on tap. Their scampi is excellent, and so is the steak and ale pie! This is a proper pub, no tacky slot machines, no music. Just ale, food, and lovely people! Has a great sunny terrace out the back with loads of extra seating, perfect on a sunny afternoon! And there's almost always seasonal local produce for sale on the bar.. from homemade damson jam, to farm eggs, to artichokes! Undoubtedly the best pub in Bristol!

Crown Inn at Chew Valley

Restaurant Details

AddressCrown Hill , Winford , Chew Valley (Chew Magna)
CommentsThis is the most homely pub I've ever been to. The staff welcome you as soon as you walk in and the surroundings make it picture perfect. The beef and ale pie is a must try, it melts in your mouth! mmmm! Me and my partner have made this a regular place to eat now, so if you like a old traditional country pub then this is a great pub to go! Jema & Adam x

Aio Restaurant

Address7 Edgar Buildings , George Street , Bath
CommentsA very enjoyable lunch with my wife and 6 year old daughter. We were warmley welcomed in this contemporary rustic feeling restaurant, given a good choice on the menu with an option of a special that day of mediteranian roast pork. My daughter was given special attention which helps at that age and the experience was excellent value, highly recommend it.

Delmonico Restaurant

Restaurant Details

Address217 Gloucester Road , Bishopston , Bristol
CommentsI was visiting friends in the Bishopston area of Bristol and we decided to try Delmonico on the Saturday evening. The atmosphere was 'buzzy' with people eating both inside and outside the restaurant. The young lady who served us was very friendly and pretty efficent considering the restaurant was so busy. We all enjoyed our starters and they were very reasonably priced. The main courses were all good especially the sea bass with risotto. I found Delmonico a very nice place to eat and the bill was also very reasonable at £73 for three.

Raj Mahal Indian Restaurant

Restaurant Details

Address8 - 10 Frome Valley Road , Stapleton , Bristol
CommentsI've been eating food prepared by Raj's chefs for over 20 years and can honestly say I've never been disappointed. We have a number of friends and family who regularly ask to go to the Raj Mahal when they are in town and it's always my 9 year old son's first choice when asked where he wants to go for dinner (although that might be because Raj spoils him with chocolates!). Always good food, a warm welcome and good service. Not the cheapest but worth every penny.

Raj Mahal Indian Restaurant

Restaurant Details

Address8 - 10 Frome Valley Road , Stapleton , Bristol
CommentsThe Raj Mahal is just the best for indian food in Bristol. We have lived here for 18 yrs and have been going to the Raj Mahal for that amount of time. We have always had excellent service, excellent food (and I have tried the whole menu) and Raj himself is the most delightful of hosts, nothing is any trouble. We love it - give it a try and you'll be back for more like we always are.

CommentsHave just enjoyed an excellent breakfast at Crown Inn, Crown Hill,Winford with a group, for their quarterly meeting. My role was to give a presentation on PNG, the "Land of the Unexpected". The service was very good and the ambience very pleasant, enhancing the event. The owners/managers had a lively sense of humour and the venue had a welcoming atmosphere. Well Done.... David

The Wine Bar

Restaurant Details

Address19 High Street , , Keynsham
CommentsWe had lunch here today and it was absolutely great. I had the freshly cooked pasta with salmon in a creamy sauce and it was delicious - I even had to ask for a doggy bag to take some home as there was so much! My partner had a tomato and mozzarella salad and it was also great value for £6.oo or so. There was fresh french bread and the coffee was great too. The staff were friendly and the ambience is relaxing - recommended!!

CommentsI enjoyed the lunchtime special of moules mariniere( mussels) today, with a free half pint lager. The service was good, the background music very nice - I meant to ask what is was and then forgot! It is lovely place to relax right by the river. One comment though - the bread served with the moules was served without butter - I had ask for it.Also it is nice to have a finger bowl when eating mussels. Otherwise well worth the £5.00 special price

The Crown Inn

Restaurant Details

AddressCrown Hill , Winford , Chew Valley (Chew Magna)
CommentsA wonderfull country pub with lots of character and a fantastic atmosphere. The owners are very friendly and acommodating and the food is terrific. I would especially recommend the Beef and Ale pie which was, without a doubt, the tastiest I've eaten in a long while. The Crown also boasts an accomplished wine list to accompany the menu and the staff certainly have the knowledge to recommend suitable wines for each dish. Definitely worth a visit!

CommentsI have eaten at the Crown on several occasions and each time I am not dissapointed. There is always a large selection of specials in addition to the main menu and you can taste that each dish really is home made. There is a great atmosphere in the Crown and it has a lovely family feel to it. If you are looking for a real treat I would highly reccomend the Beef Pie...it's the best I have ever tasted.

CommentsVery nice space with relaxed ambience. Delightful array of bikes hanging from the ceiling fitting in with cycle theme across building. Service was prompt and excellent. Friendly and attentive. It has a bustling feel. The food was good although the protion sizes seemed smaller than other restaurants I have been to. Although the ingredients tasted fresh, tasty and colourful.

CommentsThe waitress was very helpful, the food was well presented and tasty but slightly over-priced for what it was, especially the side orders of vegetables (which were needed as many dishes did not come with any vegetables).

Commentswent to The old Station Hallatrow for a function last week, under new ownership, chef/owner is some reknowned chef - and it shows. Great homemade grub looks beautifull on the plate and tastes even better. place is like dining in the old curiosity shop - WOW what an evening, I was told by our waiter that they are growing their own vegetables and have a outside wood burning pizza oven and barbecue for this summer. A MUST FOR FOOD LOVERS
