THE HISTORY

On the busy waterfront over looking the River in the heart of the city Severnshed was originally designed as a boat house by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and the building has been lovingly restored to the highest standards. The ironwork, which lines the length of the building, is original and the large wooden roof has been carefully renovated.
It is an open plan space with a large bar area that actually hovers off the floor and can be revolved and moved in any direction (360 degrees) and is unique in Europe. Using compressed air the large stainless steel bar usually divides the bar area (with its comfy modern chairs and sofas) and the larger restaurant area. Look out for the beautiful flower arrangement that is changed weekly and is always a topic of conversation for new customers! Outside is a large terrace area for diners or drinkers – this overlooks the river and is a perfect place to relax and watch the boats sail by. Severnshed is independently owned and managed and is proud to offer service of the very highest quality.

THE BAR AT THE SEVERNSHED

The bar at Severnshed is always busy and caters for those who require the best in dining and sophisticated surroundings. There is an extensive wine list and a very large range of spirits, champagnes and cocktails made to order.
On the last weekend of the month (Fridays and Saturdays) the bar area is busy with Themed Nights from 10pm – 2am. Recent events have included a London Night and a Mexican Evening where the selection of cocktails was truly international.
