Mud Dock Café, Bristol - Bath-Bristol |
Over the years Mud Dock has seen chefs of different nationalities in its kitchen: French, Italian, Portuguese and Brazilian chefs each making their mark on the Mud Dock menu which has evolved organically to include their specials and long-time customer favourites. These customer favourites form the main menu. The daily specials for lunch and dinner are shown on the blackboards in the café. The emphasis today continues to be on fresh, local produce and there is always a great selection of fish and seafood changing on a daily basis. For a freshly prepared, informal meal in a unique and quirky environment with fantastic views over the floating harbour, Mud Dock can’t be beaten. Tapas and mezze, cakes and pastries are served all day. Mud Dock has also become something of an institution for weekend brunches with full English breakfasts (all day) as well as lighter or vegetarian options. The buzzy café vibe mellows into a more candle-lit, restaurant atmosphere in the evening and the airy open space make it a perfect private party or Christmas venue.

ONCE UPON A TIME.......... The idea for the concept and values of mud dock came easily to its founders Jerry Arron and Beverly Newman. A keen cyclist from a teenager Arron had been consistently disappointed by his experiences in British bike shops. Bicycle retail was an uninspiring experience at best, and seemed years behind the exciting and inventive retail spaces emerging on the high street. The presentation of bikes, components and accessories in no way reflected the quality, style and innovation of the products. The Mud Dock Cycle works sells many brands of cycle including Trek, Santa Cruz, Scott, BMC, Merlin, Litespeed, Maveric, Intense, Brompton, Pashley.
